Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Lu Xin and his delegation. Vice-Secretary-General Wang Jianping accompanied the meeting.
As the president of the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in Germany, Lu Xin provided an overview of the North Rhine‑Westphalia Chinese Arts Troupe and the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in Germany. The North Rhine‑Westphalia Chinese Arts Troupe has long been committed to fostering people-to-people cultural exchanges between China and Germany, organizing high‑profile cultural initiatives for many years, including the Duisburg Chinese Festival, the “Culture China – Water Cube Cup” Chinese Song Competition, the NRW Chinese New Year Gala, Mid‑Autumn Festivals, and local German carnival events. It also promotes outstanding Chinese films and television series, while actively building platforms for cultural exchange among overseas Chinese youth. Furthermore, leveraging the Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in Germany’s locally established base for Chinese enterprises expanding abroad, the organization provides crucial support for leading Chinese companies such as Alibaba, JD.com, and Pinduoduo as they deepen their presence in the German market. She expressed her hope to strengthen cooperation with the platform across culture, economy, trade, and education, working together to deliver more landmark achievements in economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between China, Germany, and other SCO member states, thereby playing a positive role in advancing the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous summits of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. It also supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Wang Jianping chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development. He highlighted successful cases of the platform in fostering international cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation. Qiu Rong from the Platform’s Project Expansion Department also attended the session. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual interest.
Dai Zixuan, deputy head of the preparatory group of the Platform’s Working Committee on International Cultural Trade, and Wang Xiaoying, general manager of Chengdu Jinmei Shu Embroidery Culture Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
