Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Hu Bin and his delegation.
Hu Bin expressed his appreciation for the platform’s pragmatic promotion of economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges among SCO member states and other countries through innovative operational models. He was particularly impressed by the innovative explorations and practical achievements in areas such as international educational cooperation. He stated that the “Shanghai Spirit” is the soul of the SCO, reflecting a new type of state relations and an advanced form of civilizational exchange. He expressed his hope that the platform will play a positive role in fostering educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges among SCO member states, thereby promoting grassroots interactions and mutual learning among civilizations.
Hu Kaiqiang stated that, guided by the "Shanghai Spirit," cooperation among SCO member states has achieved leapfrog development across various fields and is actively promoting the building of a community with a shared future for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. As a non-profit international economic and trade organization under the SCO framework, the SCO Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform adheres to the spirit of Shanghai and is earnestly implementing the resolutions adopted at previous SCO Heads of State Council meetings. Focusing on the core task of "building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by deep integration between the digital economy and the traditional economy," the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership structures, thereby fostering a collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO countries led by Chinese enterprises serving as "chain leaders." This initiative supports local governments in attracting investment and aims to break down barriers to cooperation among enterprises of different ownership types, explore the establishment of "SCO standards," and lay the foundation for a global realignment of productive forces.
Given Mr. Hu Bin’s extensive experience in areas such as educational cooperation and cultural exchange, the platform has appointed Mr. Hu Bin as the “Shanghai Spirit” Ambassador for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform, and held a ceremony to present him with the appointment letter.
