Join hands to put the “Shanghai Spirit” into practice and jointly draw a new blueprint for industry-city cooperation.
At the meeting, both sides conducted a comprehensive discussion on international brand development and collaborative cooperation between industry and cities, and unanimously agreed to focus on five key areas to establish a long-term brand cooperation mechanism. First, promote cross-border economic, trade, and cultural cooperation, building bridges for cross-border economic and cultural exchanges to help Chinese brands step onto the global stage. Second, jointly create an “Industry-City Living Room,” integrating resources to build a comprehensive platform that combines industrial aggregation, urban services, and cultural exhibitions, thereby driving high-quality integrated development of industry and cities. Third, work together to establish bridges for cultural, economic, and trade exchanges as well as grassroots cooperation between Chinese cities and overseas cities, helping sister cities expand their international cooperation space, enhance their global influence, and facilitate precise matching of economic, trade, and brand resources. Fourth, co-build a health industry park that integrates pharmaceuticals and technology, focusing on biomedical innovation and upgrading health services, and establishing a coordinated industrial chain covering “medical care, education, research, and production.” Fifth, jointly launch innovative projects that integrate culture, sports, education, and technology, creating specialized innovation platforms to accelerate technological R&D and the commercialization of results in related fields.
Yue Quanjun stated that this collaboration represents an important exploration of practicing the “Shanghai Spirit,” deepening international economic and trade cooperation, and advancing international brand development. With strong support and guidance from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s multi-functional economic and trade platform, the committee will fully leverage its international network resources and cross-border cooperation advantages to provide extensive channels for resource matching and ensure the successful implementation of the five key areas of cooperation. Wu Liqun noted that the research institute, drawing on its expertise in areas such as integrated industry-city development and technological innovation, will work together with the partner to complement each other’s strengths, jointly promote the effective implementation of collaborative projects, and inject new momentum into high-quality regional economic development.
This seminar has not only established a stable bridge of cooperation between the two sides, but will also, through coordinated efforts across multiple fields, further expand the scope of economic and trade cooperation under the SCO framework and help build an open and win-win industrial ecosystem. Together, the two sides look forward to leveraging five key cooperation areas as pivotal points to gradually extend their reach to SCO member states and countries and regions along the Belt and Road, thereby fostering the development of cross-regional, multi-level industrial collaboration networks. In the realms of economy, trade, and culture, they will create internationally influential exchange brands, promote mutual learning among civilizations, and enhance people-to-people connectivity.
