Xinhua Times Review | Developing New Quality Productivity to "Like the New" and Not "Dislike the Old"
At present, the forward-looking layout around the development of new quality productivity is in full swing everywhere, but at the same time, there are also some signs that only talk about "new" rather than "old. While actively cultivating strategic emerging industries and future industries, all localities must not ignore or abandon traditional industries. The development of new-quality productivity must be adapted to local conditions, and "like the new" not "dislike the old".
Traditional industries, including iron and steel, nonferrous metals, petrochemical industry, machinery, textile and clothing, account for more than 80% of China's manufacturing industry, which is the "ballast stone" of China's economy ". These industries have strong driving effect, high industrial relevance, and high international market share. They are the base of my country's modern industrial system and the basic disk for my country to maintain its status as the world's largest manufacturing country.
"Tradition" is not the same as "low-end", and traditional industries do not represent backward productivity. "Traditional" and "emerging" are not separated, and traditional industries are the basis for the formation of new quality productivity. The "new" of new quality productivity lies in the revolutionary breakthrough of technology, the innovative allocation of production factors, and the deep transformation and upgrading of industries. The core is the improvement of total factor productivity. The seemingly "old" traditional industries are becoming the improvement of total factor productivity. Important support.
Practice has proved that the development of emerging industries is highly dependent on the support of raw materials and parts provided by traditional industries. At the same time, the huge scale of traditional industries also provides multi-dimensional application scenarios for emerging technologies, thereby providing a strong market and momentum for the development of emerging industries. Take the non-ferrous metal industry as an example. On the one hand, non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, lead, and zinc are important basic raw materials for strategic emerging industries such as new energy vehicles, new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing; on the other hand, automated production lines and industrial robots The application of intelligent manufacturing technologies such as the Internet of Things has spawned more new models and new business formats, and promoted non-ferrous metals to realize the entire industrial chain layout from primary materials to high-end equipment applications.
Traditional industries cannot be complacent, and must face up to the problems of insufficient supply of high-quality products and overcapacity. Only through transformation and upgrading can we reshape the new competitive advantages of traditional industries and accelerate the development of new quality productivity. Work hard on high-end, intelligent, and green, forging long boards in advantageous areas, and making up for shortcomings in weak links, traditional industries will inevitably "old trees sprout new shoots".
