BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — On October 14, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair).
Xi Jinping pointed out that, over the past 70 years since its inception, the Canton Fair has played a vital role in fostering trade between China and the rest of the world, becoming an effective platform for China to expand high-standard opening-up and advance the building of an open world economy. In the new context, China stands ready to join hands with countries around the globe to jointly uphold the multilateral trading system, ensure the stability and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains, broaden space for mutually beneficial international economic and trade cooperation, and promote inclusive and equitable economic globalization, thereby continuously injecting fresh momentum into global development and prosperity.
The 140th Canton Fair opened today in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province.
