Zhu Xinwei, Secretary of the Wuyang County Party Committee in Luohe City, Henan Province, paid a visit to the platform.
Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Zhu Xinwei and his delegation. Vice-Secretary-General Wang Jianping accompanied the meeting.
Zhu Xinwei stated that, in recent years, Wuyang County has steadfastly taken Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guiding principle, fully and accurately implemented the new development philosophy, and achieved remarkable results in economic and social development. Leveraging its abundant salt-mining resources, the county has established a distinctive industrial cluster centered on the salt‑chemical sector; meanwhile, park infrastructure has been steadily improved, significantly enhancing the parks’ capacity to attract and support enterprises. As one of the vital cradles of Chinese civilization, Jiahu culture has endowed Wuyang with a profound cultural heritage, serving as a key pillar for advancing the integrated development of culture and tourism. In addition, Wuyang County has proactively optimized its business environment and introduced a series of investment‑friendly policies aimed at attracting high‑quality enterprises to invest and operate, thereby bolstering the county’s high‑quality economic growth. The county hopes to capitalize on the platform’s international resources and channel advantages to further expand cooperation with SCO member states in areas such as the salt‑chemical industry, modern agriculture, and cultural exchanges, jointly writing a new chapter of collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. This effort supports local governments in attracting investment and seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, while exploring the establishment of “SCO standards” to lay the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces. The platform stands ready to strengthen engagement with Wuyang County, jointly exploring new models and pathways for synergistic development between international economic and trade organizations and local governments.
Wang Jianping chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development. He highlighted successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees, and both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual interest.
Jie Guobin, President of the Chongqing Alumni Association of Wuhan University of Science and Technology; Zhou Hongtao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Wuyang County; Yang Kang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Wuyang County CPC Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; along with relevant departmental officials, attended the meeting.
