BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — On September 22, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 48th WorldSkills Competition.
Xi Jinping pointed out that, at present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, profoundly shaping global skills development. The WorldSkills Competition closely aligns with industry needs, providing a valuable platform for skilled professionals from around the world to refine their expertise and engage in mutual learning and exchange.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China will take hosting this competition as an opportunity to encourage and guide more workers, especially young people, to pursue careers through skills development. We stand ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all parties to advance the global skills movement, thereby better serving global economic growth and improving people’s well-being.
The 48th WorldSkills Competition opened in Shanghai today, under the theme “Skills Change the World, Skills Light the Way Forward.” Hosted by WorldSkills International, the event is co-organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the People’s Government of Shanghai. During the competition, the WorldSkills Congress and the WorldSkills Expo will also be held.
