Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee’s Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, welcomed Tang Xianping and his delegation. Vice-Secretary-General Wang Jianping accompanied the meeting.
Tang Xianping explained that the Tianfu New Area Hedge Fund Association of Chengdu (hereinafter referred to as the “Tianfu Hedge Fund Association”) was registered and established in October 2014 in the Tianfu New Area of Chengdu. Supervised by the Tianfu New Area Bureau of Finance and Financial Services, it is the only non‑profit organization in China dedicated to the hedge fund sector and integrating industry, academia, research, and investment. The Association positions itself as a premier hub for hedge funds and quantitative investing in Western China, a platform for industry‑finance integration, and an international exchange gateway. Grounded in the West, serving the real economy, and connecting globally, it promotes financial innovation and risk management, thereby supporting the development of a western financial center and the Chengdu–Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle. At present, the Association comprises five specialized committees, collaborates with more than 300 financial institutions, and boasts over 1,000 high‑end members. It has organized more than 800 events, including high‑level summits, strategy forums, and industry‑matching sessions, and has engaged with over 50 listed companies across Sichuan Province. The Association looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the platform, leveraging the strengths of both sides, actively providing its professional financial tools, and deeply supporting industry‑innovation and international‑expansion efforts through working committees in sectors such as digital‑intelligence traditional Chinese medicine standardization. Furthermore, it aims to facilitate the alignment of western capital with global markets.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial‑collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. This effort supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Wang Jianping chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development, with a particular focus on sharing successful cases of international cooperation from the platform’s relevant working committees. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual interest.
Yuan Jichuan, Chairman of the Platform’s Digital TCM Standardization Committee, along with Executive Secretary-General Yang Guixing and Deputy Secretaries-General Liu Xingchen and Liu Ting, attended the meeting.
