Shanghai Cooperation Organization Time
Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Affairs, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, extended a warm welcome to Kong Cunxi and his delegation. The symposium was chaired by Wang Jianping, Deputy Secretary-General.
Kong Cunxi outlined the current state of development and the competitive advantages of the leather and wool textile industry in Linxia Prefecture. He noted that Linxia is working to integrate the entire cattle and sheep value chain—encompassing breeding, farming, processing, marketing, and services—and that this comprehensive industrial chain has become the province’s, and even the western region’s, most fully developed, diversified, well-resourced, competitively strong, and economically impactful pillar industry. He expressed the hope that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation, leverage their respective strengths, and vigorously promote quality improvement and efficiency gains across Linxia’s cattle and sheep value chain, while jointly exploring the establishment of an international hub for the cattle and sheep leather industry among Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
The platform notes that, as a non-profit international economic and trade organization, it brings together market entities of diverse ownership structures to build an international ecosystem for industrial innovation through industry-specific working committees, with the aim of breaking down barriers to cooperation among enterprises of different ownership types and laying the foundation for a global realignment of productive forces.
Qiu Rong from the Platform Project Expansion Department and Xiong Dong, Chairman of Shanghe (Gansu) Agricultural and Pastoral Technology Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.
