Wang Yipu, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee for China Energy Week, paid a visit to the platform.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization Time

Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Wang Yipu and his delegation, who were accompanied by Vice Secretary-General Wang Jianping during the meeting.

As the Secretary-General of the New Energy and Carbon Neutrality Branch of the China Association for Overseas Industrial Development, Wang Yipu provided separate introductions to the activities of the CAOID New Energy and Carbon Neutrality Branch and China Energy Week. She stated that China Energy Week (CEW) is a globally oriented, international energy industry conference that is rooted in China, radiates throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and exerts influence on a global scale. Since its inception in 2018, CEW has been successfully held three times in Beijing and Shanghai, achieving remarkable results in supporting the refinement and improvement of China’s energy policies, fostering in-depth exchanges among domestic and international industry leaders, strengthening resource integration, and building a mutually beneficial ecosystem. Guided by the principle of “a neutral stance in global energy dialogue,” China Energy Week seeks to collaborate with China in actively promoting cooperation across the international energy sector, enhancing the international community’s mutual understanding and awareness of shared energy interests, enabling the world to understand China while allowing China to shape the world. She also noted that the fourth China Energy Week will be held in Beijing this year, and expressed her hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the platform, jointly explore new models of international cooperation in the global energy industry, empower China Energy Week to reach higher standards of organization, and realize greater social value.

Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to promoting the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implementing the resolutions adopted at previous Councils of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Focusing on the core task of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital economy and the traditional economy,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities under diverse forms of ownership, thereby driving the development of an SCO national industrial synergy and innovation ecosystem led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” companies. This initiative supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to break down barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” and lays the foundation for a global realignment of productive forces. He emphasized that strengthening international energy cooperation is a key consensus among the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The platform is eager to support the hosting of the 4th China Energy Week and to play an active role in bolstering the security and stability of the international energy value chain.

Wang Jianping chaired the symposium and presented the platform’s innovative operational model and achievements in construction and development, with a particular focus on sharing successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest.

Mou Lan, Executive Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee for China Energy Week, attended the conference as a guest.
