Recently, the Education Working Alliance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”) signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Chongqing with the Zhejiang Provincial Educational Technology Center and the Zhejiang Provincial Educational Equipment Industry Association. The two sides will engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as promoting the overseas expansion of educational equipment, jointly developing standards, and building integrated industry-education communities, thereby fostering mutual development between high-quality educational resources from the Yangtze River Delta region and the SCO’s international cooperation channels.
The signing ceremony was chaired by Deng Rui, Chairman of the Alliance. Attending as witnesses were Zhang Guangfu, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO Economic and Trade Platform and Special Envoy of the Alliance; Hu Bin, former Second-Level Inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and Supervisor of the Chongqing Education International Exchange Association; Wang Huijun, Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Educational Technology Center; Zhang Jian, Party Secretary of the Chongqing Education Information Technology and Equipment Center; Mao Delin, Executive Secretary-General of the Alliance; and Hang Jianping and Ge Yufeng, Directors of the Specialized Committees of the Zhejiang Provincial Educational Equipment Industry Association.
According to the memorandum, both parties will engage in comprehensive cooperation in areas such as the international promotion of educational equipment, joint research and development of technical standards, and collaborative training of specialized professionals. They will jointly create a new model of complementary advantages based on “products plus channels.” Additionally, they reached consensus on establishing a liaison office of the alliance in Zhejiang, building an international education equipment exhibition base, hosting international exhibitions for educational equipment, organizing visits to Zhejiang by foreign schools and their teachers and students, promoting the coordinated overseas expansion of China’s educational equipment and technical standards, and constructing an educational cooperation network between the Yangtze River Delta region and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
This signing represents an important step for the alliance to connect high-quality educational industry resources and promote the integration of industry and education as well as cross-regional cooperation. The two parties will join forces to explore and develop a flagship international cooperation project in educational equipment, helping China’s high-quality educational resources empower the educational development and economic and trade cooperation of SCO member states, and contributing new impetus to the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of a community with a shared future for the SCO.
