Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 23 — On January 23, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, sent a telegram to Su Lin, congratulating him on his election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In his congratulatory message, Xi Jinping stated that since the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Communist Party has firmly pursued a path of socialist modernization suited to Vietnam’s national conditions, upheld and strengthened the Party’s overall leadership, and united and led the Vietnamese people to achieve remarkable accomplishments in the cause of socialist construction and reform. As a result, Vietnam’s international standing and influence have continued to rise. The successful convening of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam has ushered in a new era for the development of the Vietnamese nation, and will inspire and promote the development of the global socialist movement. We are confident that under the leadership of the new Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with Comrade General Secretary at its helm, the Vietnamese Communist Party will surely lead the Vietnamese people to unite as one, forge ahead with determination, and propel the cause of the Party and the country to new and even greater achievements, successfully fulfilling all the goals and tasks set forth by the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
China and Vietnam are socialist friendly neighbors and a community with a shared future of strategic significance. I deeply cherish the relationship between the Communist Parties and the two countries, and I am willing to work together with Comrade General Secretary to strengthen strategic communication, carry forward our traditional friendship, and firmly advance the cause of socialism.
