Deputy Secretary-General Wang Jianping, on behalf of Hu Kaiqiang, Director General of the Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States and Deputy Director of the Committee for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Yuan Lin and his delegation.
Yuan Lin provided a detailed briefing on the progress of the preparatory work for the International Charity and Public Welfare Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform, as well as the platform’s future strategic development plan and specific operational approaches. Yuan Lin stated that the committee will closely focus on the platform’s core mission, actively integrate resources from all parties, and, through initiatives such as launching international charity projects and organizing public welfare exchange activities, concentrate on cooperation in poverty alleviation areas like agriculture and vocational education. In doing so, the committee will not only contribute to fostering mutual understanding and goodwill between the SCO member states and African countries such as Kenya, but also continuously explore the establishment of international cooperation mechanisms in the field of charity and public welfare, thereby helping to build a closer SCO community with a shared future.
The platform points out that, as a non-profit international economic and trade organization, it integrates market entities of various ownership structures and builds an international ecosystem for industrial innovation through industry working committees. It actively supports the development of charitable and public welfare initiatives. The platform encourages the preparatory team to conduct thorough industry research and proactively develop more impactful charity projects that benefit the public, thereby providing practical models for establishing cross-cultural and sustainable international cooperation in the field of public welfare.
