Putin briefed Xi on Russia's view of the current situation of the Ukraine crisis and the recent contacts and communication between Russia and the United States, saying that Russia highly appreciates China's constructive role in politically resolving the crisis. The comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between Russia and China will not change under any circumstances, and Russia is willing to maintain close communication with China.
Xi Jinping expounded on China's principled position, pointing out that there are no simple solutions to complex problems. No matter how the situation changes, China will adhere to its consistent position and insist on promoting peace talks. China welcomes the maintenance of contact between Russia and the United States, the improvement of their relationship, and the promotion of the political settlement process of the Ukraine crisis.
The two heads of state spoke positively of the high-level political mutual trust and strategic cooperation between China and Russia, and agreed to jointly promote greater development of bilateral relations. Both sides will work together to prepare for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin, making it a friendly, united, and fruitful summit, and promoting high-quality development of the SCO.
