On the afternoon of April 14, Yuan Jiajun, secretary of the municipal party committee, and Hu Henghua, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and mayor, met with visiting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his party.
Prime Minister Scholz's visit is an official visit to China at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang. On the morning of the 14th, Scholz and his party arrived in Chongqing, the first stop of China's visit, by special plane.

Yuan Jiajun, on behalf of the municipal Party committee, the municipal government and the people of the whole city, extended a warm welcome to Scholz and his party. Yuan Jiajun said that Chongqing actively implements the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and his Excellency the Prime Minister, gives full play to local advantages, and strives to contribute to the development of the all-round strategic partnership between China and Germany. Chongqing is located in the west of China. It is a mountain city and a super large-scale city with complete industrial categories, beautiful ecological environment, livable, business and tourism, and huge development potential. At present, we are thoroughly implementing the 20th CPC National Congress, grasping national strategic opportunities such as the large-scale development of the western region and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, persisting in building a modern industrial system under the guidance of scientific and technological innovation, and speeding up the construction of digital Chongqing. we will continue to raise the level of modernization of mega-city governance, solidly promote high-quality development, create a high quality life, and achieve high-efficiency governance. Scholz thanked Chongqing for its warm reception and strong support for the development of German enterprises in Chongqing. He said that Chongqing's modernization drive has a good momentum and a superior business environment, which has left a deep impression on us. Germany is willing to continue to deepen friendly exchanges with Chongqing, continue to strengthen practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade and logistics, technological innovation, new energy, medicine and chemical industry, and push bilateral cooperation to a new level.
