Liu Xin, Chair of the Alashan SEE Chongqing Project Center, paid a visit.
Deputy Secretary-General Wang Jianping, on behalf of Hu Kaiqiang, Director-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, extended a welcome to Liu Xin and his delegation.
Liu Xin explained that, through the Alashan SEE Entrepreneurs Platform, she spearheaded the establishment of a locally rooted environmental‑protection nonprofit collaboration network in Chongqing, bringing together businesses, civil society organizations, and the public to jointly engage in watershed management. Grounded in Chongqing and centered on the overarching goal of safeguarding the Yangtze River, the initiative has launched a series of ecological and environmental‑protection public‑interest projects. Along the way, it has continuously explored practical models for “business with purpose,” founding benefit‑corporation enterprises that tightly integrate core business operations with ecological‑governance needs, enabling these environmental initiatives to become self‑sustaining and operate over the long term. She expressed hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the platform, working together to pioneer new models and pathways for the sustainable development of global green‑environmental public‑interest endeavors.
We note that, as a non‑profit international economic and trade organization, the platform brings together market entities of diverse ownership forms and establishes industry working committees to foster an international ecosystem for industrial innovation. It seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, thereby laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Attending the event were Tian Angfeng, General Manager of the Chongqing Branch of Kanghui Tourism Group; Wang Qingming, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chongqing Yuce Institute of Economic and Technological Research; Long Yanjun, initiator of the Caihong Bookstore Community Center project; Lin Yaya, Project Officer for the Y-CLAP Youth Climate Leadership Development Program; and Zhou Jian’gan, Director of Ningbo Shuixing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., among others.
