Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee’s Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, welcomed Zhang Changbao and his delegation. Liu Jie, Deputy Secretary-General, accompanied the meeting.
Meanwhile, as Chairman and General Manager of Wuxi Bofeite Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Zhang Changbao outlined the progress and development of the Chuzhou Chamber of Commerce in Wuxi’s Xinwu District. He expressed his hope that, leveraging the chamber as a bridge, they would target the markets of SCO member states and countries and regions along the Belt and Road, explore the establishment of sector-specific working committees, and encourage the chamber to play a more active role in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative. By doing so, they aim to integrate more deeply into the new development paradigm of dual circulation, help enterprises overcome developmental challenges, expand into international markets, and foster regional economic, trade, and industrial cooperation.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous summits of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial‑collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. This effort supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Liu Jie chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development, with a particular focus on sharing successful cases of international cooperation from the platform’s relevant working committees. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual concern.
