BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) — On the morning of June 29, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Belarus are true friends who trust and support one another, good partners for common development and prosperity, and all‑weather comprehensive strategic partners. China–Belarus relations have stood the test of international changes and, in recent years, have achieved leapfrog development, reaching their best period in history. The two sides enjoy rock‑solid political mutual trust; fruitful results have been attained through high‑quality joint efforts to build the Belt and Road; key cooperation projects are being steadily advanced; and multilateral collaboration has proven highly effective. Facts have demonstrated that deepening all‑weather, all‑round cooperation between China and Belarus is in line with the trend of historical development and serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of both countries.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Belarus should maintain strategic communication, advance their bilateral relations at a high level, and deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries. China supports Belarus in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions. China stands ready to continue providing all possible assistance for Belarus’s development and modernization. The two countries should mobilize resources from all sectors to promote the Belt and Road Initiative and enrich the substance of practical cooperation. China is willing to work with Belarus to build a community with a shared future for mankind, implement the four major global initiatives, strengthen coordination and cooperation within multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and serve as a stabilizing force in an increasingly turbulent world.
Lukashenko stated that he fully endorses President Xi Jinping’s assessment of bilateral relations. China is Belarus’ all‑weather strategic partner, and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries has been comprehensive and in-depth, providing crucial support for Belarus’ economic and social development. The Belarusian side attaches great importance to its relations with China, looks forward to strengthening strategic communication, expanding areas of cooperation, and advancing bilateral ties to new heights. President Xi Jinping has put forward four major global initiatives, promoted the political settlement of hotspot issues, and made significant contributions to world peace, stability, and prosperity. Belarus stands ready to continue maintaining close coordination with China on international and regional affairs, working together to promote peace, development, and stability worldwide and in the region.
