BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) — On the morning of June 26, Chinese President Xi Jinping met at the Great Hall of the People with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was on an official visit to China. The two leaders jointly announced the establishment of a China–Bangladesh community with a shared future for the new era, pledging to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.

Xi Jinping stated that China has always attached great importance to developing China–Bangladesh relations and remains committed to a policy of good-neighborly friendship that benefits all the people of Bangladesh. Regardless of how the international landscape evolves, China will steadfastly uphold the overarching principle of China–Bangladesh friendship, continuing to be a reliable friend, neighbor, and partner for Bangladesh. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Looking back, it is precisely through our unity and leadership that the Chinese people have successfully forged a path of Chinese modernization, emerging from a history of poverty and weakness—by upholding independence and self-reliance and by firmly taking the destiny of our country’s development and progress into our own hands. China supports Bangladesh in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and opposes external interference. We stand ready to strengthen exchanges with Bangladesh on governance and state administration, enhance high-level and all‑level interactions, deepen strategic communication, and build greater political mutual trust, while continuing to support each other on issues concerning our respective core interests and major concerns.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China adheres to a policy of good-neighborliness, peace, and shared prosperity, and upholds the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. China continues to harness its own new development to offer fresh opportunities and inject new momentum into its neighboring countries. China supports the new Bangladeshi government in carrying out its governance smoothly, and stands ready to work with Bangladesh to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative at a high quality, deepen the alignment of development strategies, exchange development experiences, and plan key cooperation projects in an orderly manner. China will tap the potential for cooperation in such fields as green and low-carbon development, the digital economy, information technology, and artificial intelligence; promote exchanges in health, culture, education, and local-level cooperation; advance the construction of the China–Myanmar–Bangladesh Economic Corridor; and strengthen regional connectivity. China is also willing to enhance communication and coordination with Bangladesh within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, so as to jointly advance a world characterized by multipolarity, equality, and order, and an inclusive and mutually beneficial economic globalization, thereby better safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of China and Bangladesh, as well as the common interests of the Global South.

Tariq extended his congratulations on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, stating that China is a great nation that has always occupied a prominent position in Bangladesh’s foreign policy and is a valued, trustworthy partner. He expressed his delight at the elevation of bilateral relations to a new height, marking the establishment of a China–Bangladesh community with a shared future for the new era. Under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has achieved remarkable development; China’s path to modernization serves as a model for Bangladesh. Bangladesh stands ready to strengthen inter‑party exchanges with China, jointly advance the Belt and Road Initiative, and deepen cooperation and exchanges in such fields as trade and investment, connectivity, agriculture, science and technology, green energy, education, and health, thereby contributing to Bangladesh’s modernization. Bangladesh firmly adheres to the one‑China principle, regards Taiwan as an inseparable part of Chinese territory, opposes all forms of “Taiwan independence,” and resolutely safeguards the authority of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. President Xi Jinping’s vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and his four major global initiatives are of great significance for upholding world peace and development, as well as international fairness and justice. Bangladesh fully supports these efforts and is willing to enhance coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs, working together to safeguard the outcomes of World War II and the international order centered on the United Nations.
