Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee’s Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, welcomed Lü Xiaoxiao and her delegation. Vice-Secretary-General Wang Jianping accompanied the meeting.
Lü Xiaoxiao gained an in-depth understanding of the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development, and briefed attendees on Chongqing Qianxin Foreign Economic and Trade Group’s overseas industrial footprint and trade‑related activities. She noted that the Group’s Singapore subsidiary serves as Chongqing’s strategic foothold in Southeast Asia, the core operating entity for China–Singapore connectivity, and an overseas service hub for the New International Land–Sea Trade Corridor. Currently, it focuses on five key areas—trade digitalization, commodity and energy trading, cross‑border finance, the implementation of China–Singapore projects, and investment promotion and industrial internationalization—and has established a synergistic framework integrating digital solutions, physical operations, and financial services. She expressed the hope that, building on the strategic partnership already established between the Group and the platform, cooperation in such fields as commodity trade among SCO member states, cross‑border finance, and trade digitalization will be further deepened and concretely implemented, thereby making a positive contribution to advancing Chongqing’s New International Land–Sea Trade Corridor and its role as an inland open‑door hub.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous meetings of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. It also supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Platform Secretary-General Ji Xuxu chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development, with a particular focus on sharing successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees. Yu Fang, head of the Chongqing bureau of the International Business Daily under the Ministry of Commerce, along with Yu Hua and Ruan Sha from the Digital Trade Division of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Commission of Commerce, also addressed the meeting. Participants engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on leveraging the platform’s extensive domestic and international industrial resources and application‑scenario advantages to support Liangjiang New Area’s efforts to establish itself as a national demonstration zone for digital trade.
