Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to the Tenth Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States

BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) — On March 21, the 10th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States was held in Colombia, the rotating chair country, where President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the summit.
Xi Jinping pointed out that since its establishment, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States has been committed to promoting peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the Latin American and Caribbean region, thereby injecting new momentum into solidarity, cooperation, and common development among the Global South. Last May, the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the China–CELAC Forum was successfully held in Beijing. I attended the opening ceremony and announced that China and Latin America would jointly launch five major initiatives—solidarity, development, civilization, peace, and people-to-people exchanges—which received an enthusiastic response from the Latin American side. Over the past year, the two sides have worked closely together to deepen and substantiate these five initiatives, delivering tangible benefits to the peoples of both China and Latin America.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China will always be a good friend and partner of Latin American and Caribbean countries, support their efforts to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and development interests, and stand ready to work with the Latin American and Caribbean side to uphold international fairness and justice, thus jointly writing a new chapter in the building of a China–Latin America community with a shared future.
