Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Zhang Die and her delegation, who were accompanied by Vice Secretary-General Zhang Guangfu for the meeting.
Zhang Die provided an overview of the European Chinese Art Institute, which she spearheaded the establishment of. She explained that the European Chinese Art Institute was founded in the Netherlands in 2007 with the aim of promoting the overseas dissemination of Chinese folk music, facilitating the inclusion of the pipa in the Dutch government’s grading system, and helping Chinese art better integrate into mainstream European society. The Institute devotes considerable effort to planning and organizing cultural and artistic exhibitions showcasing Chinese culture, particularly by assisting in the curation of Chinese Culture Festivals and Cultural Days—events that present the allure of Chinese art at a higher standard and in more targeted formats. She emphasized that the “China Festival,” organized under the Institute’s leadership, is scheduled to take place from September 4–6, 2026, in Duisburg, Germany. She expressed her hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with relevant platforms, using the SCO and China–Europe cultural and artistic exchange initiatives as opportunities to foster greater achievements in areas such as China–Europe cultural dialogue, multilateral cooperation in cultural trade, digital development of culture, and the building of cultural brands.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform adheres to the “Shanghai Spirit,” diligently implements the resolutions of the Councils of Heads of State of the SCO member states, and, centered on the core task of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital economy and the traditional economy,” leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities under diverse forms of ownership. By doing so, it promotes the development of an SCO national industrial synergy and innovation ecosystem led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” companies, supports local governments in attracting investment, strives to break down barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, explores the establishment of “SCO Standards,” and lays the foundation for a global realignment of productive forces.
Zhang Guangfu chaired the symposium and presented the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development, with a particular focus on sharing successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees. Qiu Rong, Head of the Platform Project Expansion Department, also took part in the discussion. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics of mutual interest.
Ran Xiaohong, General Manager of Shanghai Zhongheng Chuangzhi Business Consulting Co., Ltd., along with Dai Zixuan, Deputy Head of the Preparatory Group for the Platform’s External Cultural Trade Working Committee, and member Wang Huan, attended the meeting.
