Hu Kaiqiang, Director General of the Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States and Deputy Director of the Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese, and Foreign Affairs of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Huang Huicheng and his delegation. Zhang Guangfu, Deputy Secretary-General, accompanied the meeting.
Huang Huicheng introduced the overall economic and social development situation of Tiandong County. He stated that Tiandong County enjoys obvious locational advantages, serving as a crucial gateway connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt with the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, a strategic bridgehead for the Guangdong-Guangxi region’s entry into ASEAN, and a key hub along the new southwest land-and-sea corridor. As a region renowned for its distinctive agricultural products characteristic of China and known as the “Home of Chinese Mangoes,” Tiandong County boasts abundant agricultural resources and is an important agricultural production base in Guangxi. It is also a major county in Guangxi specializing in the production and distribution of southern vegetables to northern markets. At the same time, Tiandong County is rich in forestry resources, has enormous mineral reserves, and possesses unique cultural and tourism assets. Notably, it offers an excellent business environment, attractive investment policies, and rapid industrial development momentum, forming cluster advantages across various sectors such as culture, tourism, health, commerce and logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Tiandong County has thus become an investment hotspot of great appeal. We hope to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the platform, leveraging its open channels and international resource advantages to help Tiandong County achieve higher-quality economic development.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform is committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and thoroughly implementing the resolutions adopted by the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member countries. Focusing on the core task of “building a new SCO ecosystem that deeply integrates the digital economy with the traditional economy,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of various ownership structures, thereby fostering a collaborative innovation ecosystem in the SCO countries led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain leaders.” This initiative supports local governments in attracting investment and aims to break down barriers to cooperation among enterprises of different ownership types, while also exploring the establishment of “SCO standards” to lay the foundation for a global realignment of productive forces. We are eager to join hands with Tiandong County to jointly explore new models and pathways for the synergistic development between international economic and trade platforms and local governments, thereby taking Tiandong’s outward-oriented economy and local cultural exchanges to a new level.
Zhang Guangfu chaired the symposium and introduced the platform’s innovative operational model and achievements in construction and development. He focused on sharing successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees, and both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on topics of mutual concern.
Zou Xiaolin, Chairman of the Platform’s Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Rescue; Zeng Zhuyuan, Deputy Secretary-General; Pan Yili, head of Chongqing Zizhe Technology Co., Ltd., a member unit; and Huang Zhenmin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chongqing Guangxi Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting.
