Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese, and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, welcomed Chen Cheng and his delegation. Liu Jie, Deputy Secretary-General, accompanied the meeting.
Meanwhile, as Vice Chairman of the Chongqing Film Producers Association, Chairman of the Guang’an City Filmmakers Association, a member of the Production Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Filmmakers Association, and Vice Chairman of the Bazhong City Literary and Art Critics Association, Chen Cheng outlined his career in film and television arts, as well as his company’s current status and future plans. He noted that Sichuan and Chongqing boast a profound cultural heritage, abundant red‑revolutionary resources, and vibrant local customs and traditions—rich veins of material for cinematic and television storytelling. Grounded in the region, his company focuses on creating works rooted in revolutionary themes, rural realities, and public‑interest subjects, striving to advance the industrialization of regional filmmaking, pool the creative strengths of both provinces, unearth stories from the people and the times, and nurture young local talent in film and television. The company is also actively promoting the deep integration of film and tourism, showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Sichuan and Chongqing, and telling heartfelt, locally resonant stories. Looking ahead, it hopes to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with platforms, explore avenues for grassroots cross‑border film and television dialogue, promote Sichuan–Chongqing narratives abroad, and bring in international production expertise—creating mutually beneficial synergies to help the region’s film and television industry expand onto the global stage.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous meetings of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. It also supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Liu Jie chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development. He highlighted successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees, while Qiu Rong from the Platform’s Project Expansion Department also took part. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual interest.
