Beijing, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) — The remains of Comrade Zhu Rongji, an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a loyal communist fighter tested by long experience, an outstanding proletarian revolutionary and statesman, an exemplary leader of the Party and the country, a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Politburo Standing Committee, and former Premier of the State Council, were cremated on the 18th at Beijing's Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery

During his serious illness and after his death, Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng, Hu Jintao and other comrades visited him in hospital or, in various forms, expressed deep mourning over Comrade Zhu Rongji’s death and extended heartfelt condolences to his family
On the morning of the 18th, the hall of Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery was solemn and dignified, with mourning music playing softly. A black banner with white characters reading "Deeply mourn Comrade Zhu Rongji" hung above the main hall, and Zhu Rongji's portrait was beneath it. His remains lay among flowers and cypress, covered by the bright red flag of the Communist Party of China
At about 9:30 a.m., Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng and others slowly walked to Comrade Zhu Rongji's remains to stand solemnly in silent mourning as mourning music played, bowed three times to his remains, and shook hands with his relatives one by one to offer condolences. Hu Jintao sent a wreath to express his condolences over Comrade Zhu Rongji’s death
Relevant leaders of the Party and the state went to see him off or expressed their mourning in various ways. Responsible officials from relevant central and state organs, friends of Comrade Zhu Rongji from his lifetime and representatives from his hometown also went to bid farewell
