Hu Kaiqiang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Multifunctional Economic and Trade Platform and Deputy Director of the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee’s Committee on Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, welcomed Li Yan and her delegation. Vice-Secretary-General Liu Jie accompanied the meeting.
Li Yan outlined the current state of Jiangjin District’s cultural tourism, sports, and related industries. She noted that Jiangjin is a key hub for motorcycle manufacturing in Chongqing, deeply integrated into the city’s “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system, with a strong focus on developing the high-end motorcycle sector and steadily advancing the “Chongqing Motorcycles Go Global” strategy. In addition, Jiangjin successfully hosted the Chinese Motocross Championship and the China–Mongolia Motocross Tour (Jiangjin, Chongqing) in December 2025, accompanied by an industry‑related summit that resulted in RMB 1.22 billion in economic and trade agreements. These initiatives have boosted local production and sales of complete vehicles and components, as well as foreign trade activities, while building up mature experience in organizing international sporting events, assembling a professional team, and establishing comprehensive venue infrastructure. Jiangjin hopes to strengthen cooperation with the platform to jointly explore the organization of international, specialized motocross events targeting SCO member states, further deepening cultural and sports exchanges within the SCO, promoting the outward development of Jiangjin’s real economy, elevating the region’s level of opening-up, cultivating distinctive sports brands, and injecting greater SCO‑driven momentum into the coordinated development of Jiangjin’s cultural, sports, and tourism sectors and its broader internationalization.
Hu Kaiqiang pointed out that the platform remains committed to upholding the “Shanghai Spirit” and earnestly implements the resolutions adopted at previous summits of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council. Centered on the core mission of “building a new SCO ecosystem characterized by the deep integration of the digital and traditional economies,” the platform leverages industry working committees to bring together market entities of diverse ownership forms, thereby fostering an industrial‑collaborative innovation ecosystem in SCO member states led by Chinese enterprises serving as “chain‑leading” firms. This initiative supports local governments in attracting investment, seeks to dismantle barriers to cooperation among enterprises with different ownership structures, and explores the establishment of “SCO standards,” laying the groundwork for a global realignment of productive forces.
Liu Jie chaired the symposium, presenting the platform’s innovative operational model and its achievements in construction and development. He highlighted successful cases of international cooperation involving the platform’s relevant working committees, with Daya from the Platform’s Project Expansion Department also attending. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on issues of mutual interest.
Zhu Zhengxiang, Deputy Director of the Jiangjin District Culture and Tourism Commission and Deputy Director of the District Sports Bureau; Tan Xiaolu, President of the Chongqing Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Association; Zhang Zhou, Section Chief of the Sports Division of the Jiangjin District Culture and Tourism Commission; and Liu Qingsong, Section Chief of the Industry Division, attended the meeting.
